Japanese partners at MPCF-Canaman for ocular visit

CANAMAN, Camarines Sur — Representatives and officials from Japanese maritime companies visited Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation to check the status of the facilities as well as the cadets on November 25, 2015.

The visitors including Mr. Kenzo Minagawa (General Manager, Misuga Kaiun Co. Ltd- Phil. Branch), Mr. Shinya Ishii (Deputy Manager, Marine & Technical Dept., Hayama Shipping Ltd.), Mr. Terumi Aono (President, Marujyu Marine Co. Ltd. (Japan), Mr. Koichi Hino (Manager, Marine Technical Dept.) and  Mr. Genta Kutsuma (Marine Technical Dept.) were warmly greeted during the arrival honors led by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Marilissa Ampuan and some members of the administration.

Assisted by chairpersons and instructors of BS Marine Transportation and BS Marine Engineering department, they proceeded in checking the functionality and effectiveness of the facilities and equipment for the students’ training and education.

They also joined the cadets for lunch at the International Culinary Training Center (ICTC).

MLogoc makes it to 10

Midn. Jonathan M. Logoc made it to the Top 10 in 7th On-the-spot-art Contest in AMOSUP convention Hall, Intramuros, Manila held last September 26, 2015 as part of National Maritime Week Celebration, September 20-27, 2015, with the theme of “Marinerong Pilipino: isulong ang edukasyon at pagsasanay”.
 

He was accompanied by Mr. Estilito R. Clemente, Instructor/MIS Academic Adviser, during the said event. Midn. Logoc underwent two elimination rounds which were critiqued by architects from Bicol State Colleges of Applied Sciences and Technology before heading to Nationals. He represented MPCF-Baras, Canaman Campus and fortunately made it to Top 10 out of 23 campuses from different maritime schools in Luzon and Visayas. Awards are given right after the competition at around 1700H.
 

MOC, MMPI, build bridge to new 27 cadets and 8 culinary trainees of MPCF

Manila Ocean Crew (MOC) and Maine Marine Philippines Inc. (MMPI) under Misuga Kaiun Co. Ltd. recognize 27 cadets and 8 culinary trainees as Cadetship Program grantees of Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) in the event- “Cadetship Orientation and Memorandum of Agreement” or MOA signing ceremony, happened last July 31, 2015 at the school’s Library for Safe Seafaring (L4SS).

Captain Miguelito A. Mariano-Training Manager of Misuga Kaiun Co. Ltd, Philippine Branch, shared also his time and efforts in presenting such activities and programs implemented by the companies and deliver his motivating experiences.

“I am grateful because they can help me, us, a lot to secure our future knowing their untiring support and generosity through their programs. I will owe this life to them..” Midn. Anoyo, one of the recipients, said in a personal interview.

Furthermore, Dr. Marillissa J. Ampuan- the new Chief Executive Officer of MPCF, Ms. Marian Her. Lazaro- Vice President for Academic Affairs, Mr. Estelito R. Clemante- Mariners’ Industry Scholars (MIS) academic adviser, Mr. Mario I. Castor-MIS Drill Instructor and Mr. Sherwin A. Narvadez-MIS Coordinator, had gave their unselfish part and witnessed the orientation and ceremony happened.

The new beneficiaries of the cadetship program together with their parents cannot hide their happiness and heartfelt gratitude on significant occasion as they build bridge to their corresponding companies.

Currently, there are about a hundred who are considered as Scholars in the Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges Foundation- Baras, Canaman Campus.
