MPCF Cam Sur cadets bag ‘Outstanding Bicolano Maritime Students’ awards

CANAMAN, Camarines Sur - Students of Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF), this province have been given recognition as among the recipients of the ‘2015 Outstanding Bicolano Maritime Students’ awards.

Those who were given the citation were Midn. Jonathan Logoc as Most Outstanding Bicolano Maritime Cadet of the Year (Deck Category) and Course of Midshipmen (COM) Master Ralph Arky B. Picache as Most Outstanding Bicolano Maritime Cadet of the Year (Engineering Category).

Meantime, the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) also awarded certificates of recognition to two other nominees, Midn. Rebustillo and Midn. Navarrete.

The occasion was held at the JCJ Multi-Purpose Gymnasium on October 8, 2015 during the ‘Usapang STCW’ event. It was sponsored by MARINA. This agency has been consistent in acknowledging the hard work and passion of students who will soon be contributors to the coffers of the Philippine economy as future Seafarers.

The award also highlighted MARINA’s effort to encourage those taking-up maritime courses to aim for excellence in their midshipman years so that they will be better prepared to work in the Maritime Industry once thy finish their course.

Present at the awards rites were BSMT and BS MARE Department Chairpersons, Capt. Nestor Rasco and Engr. Limuel Gasco, respectively as their gesture of support to the awardees.

“The nominees have shown excellence in their academic and non-academic performances. Their participation in the activities helped promote and improve maritime education and the industry, itself. The awardees have shown discipline, integrity and the capability to work in a team with competence and passion" said BSMT Department Chair, Captain Nestor Rasco. (CAS)
