MPCF Cam Sur honors top graduates at 42nd Commencement Exercises

Top officials of Maritime companies featured as key speakers

 

CANAMAN, Camarines Sur - Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) honored the graduates at the 42nd Commencement Exercises held on April 5, 2016. The ceremony gave special focus to the students who have shown excellence in their academic performance as well as their extra-curricular activities.

Prior to the graduation ceremony, the recognition rites also gave special awards and citations to the graduating and non-graduating students who excelled in their respective courses. TSAKOS Maritime Philippines Incorporated (TMPI) Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Capt. Leodan Nagrampa graced the event as the speaker. Nagrampa, a MPCF alumnus, shared the struggles that he experienced as a college student and as a maritime official; he then stressed the importance of character when it comes to building a man’s career. The traditional Ring-Hop Ceremony took place on the same day and featured the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Deputy Administrator for Regional Concerns Chief Engineer Alfredo Haboc who conveyed relevant and timely information on the prevailing situation in the maritime industry in the country today. The updates he shared has enlightened the members of the graduating batch on the regulations which should be watched-out as they embark to pursue their respective careers. He inspired the graduates to excel in their performance even after they have left the portals of this institution.

Rev. Fr. Romeo G. Donacao served as the celebrant for the Baccalaureate Mass as a thanksgiving activity of graduates and the faculty and staff of MPCF for a very successful and meaningful school year.

To deliver informative and inspirational message to the graduates, the 42nd Commencement Exercises featured Atty. Iris Baguilat, President of Dӧhle Seafront Crewing (Manila) Inc. Special citations such as the Proficiency Awards in Navigation, Seamanship, Power Plant, Auxiliary Machinery, Electro-Technology, Machine Shop and in Tariff and Customs were also accorded to those who have completed the academic requirements.

Officials from international and local Maritime companies in partnership with the institution were also present to congratulate the graduates and their proud parents for their achievements and their hard work to raise the future heroes of the Maritime Industry.
