MPCF names new generation of student leaders in COM Elections 2016

CANAMAN, Camarines Sur — A new generation of student leaders was declared in the recently concluded elections for the Corps of Midshipmen (COM) Student Executive Council which took place on March 14, 2016 at Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation-Canaman Campus.

Weaving a new thread to the institution’s several milestones is BS Customs Administration student Alyanna Gayle Fajardo who was elected as the council’s Master Midshipwoman, a first in the school history. Fajardo is expected to lead the 11 newly-elected officers on projects and other programs which will benefit not just the school but most especially, their fellow Marineros and Marineras.

The victory of MPCF’s newly-elected Master Midshipwoman is symbolic to the institution’s goal to promote gender equality in the Maritime Industry.

To quote MARINA Administrator Mr. Maximo Mejia Jr. and his statement during MPCF Legazpi’s graduation ceremony last year: “Actually, nothing is impossible for women. I believe, what men can do, women can do better.” (CAS)
