Intrams 2019: Six teams battle for supremacy at the Dolphin Games’ clash of warriors

The 2019 intramurals dubbed as ‘Dolphin Games’ rolled at the Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) in Canaman, Camarines Sur from November 6 to 8, 2019. It was a three-day hotly-contested, fun-filled event to be remembered, not only by the students but by the members of the faculty and staff, more so that the school personnel participated in the various games played.

The joint group which represented the Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) Camarines Sur and Mariners Polytechnic Colleges (MPC) in Naga City has captured the ‘Over-All Championship’ and the coveted ‘Most Disciplined’ award for the 902nd Coast Guard Auxiliary-Officer Training Corps (CGA-OTC) unit in the Regional Military Street Parade competition held on September 13, 2019. This event is one of the most colorful highlights of the Peñafrancia Festival celebration.



Maritime cadets, school personnel join Traslacion Procession to honor Patroness of Bicolandia

School hurdles preliminary accreditation process; moves-on to next level

Metro Manila – The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) confirmed that the Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) in Camarines Sur passed the preliminary process and has qualified to be in the ‘candidate status’ level in its application for accreditation. This was learned from Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Edgar Despi and Engr. Armelfa M. Olea, the school’s Director for Accreditation and as confirmed by MPCF President Dr. Marilissa J. Ampuan.



Flood, landslide-stricken communities receive relief goods from MPCF, other groups

The Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) in Canaman, Camarines Sur thru the school’s Research, Development and Extension Office (RDEO) and Tabang Bikol Movement (TBM), in cooperation with other groups continued (weeks after the storm), to lead the gathering and distribution of relief goods to flood-stricken barangays in Rinconada, Minalabac and Libmanan areas, all in the province of Camarines Sur.

School surpasses national average mark of board passers in Customs Brokers Licensure Exam

Metro Manila – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the names of board passers who took the Customs Brokers Licensure Examination (CBLE) given on November 21 and 22, 2018. Peñafrancia military parade awards over-all category-3 championship to Mariners Naga, Cam Sur contingent

Naga City – The Coast Guard Auxiliary-Officer Training Corps (CGA-OTC) contingent composed of combined members from the Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) Canaman, Camarines Sur and Mariners Polytechnic Colleges (MPC) Naga campus captured the top award as Over-all Champion (ROTC-Category 3) in the Regional Military Parade competition held on September 14, 2018, this city. The event is one of the major highlights of the annual Festival which pays tribute to Our Lady of Peñafrancia, the Patroness of Bicolandia.

Metro Manila – A delegation from Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) Camarines Sur has finalized the preliminary arrangement of accepting maritime cadets in the Shipboard Training (SBT) program of LOPROPAYL-OCEANUS Shipping and Ship Management, Inc. as discussed in the meeting held in its Manila office on March 23, 2018.

Career Guidance team visits Libmanan and other towns in Camarines Sur

San Juan, Libmanan, Camarines Sur – The Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) Camarines Sur ‘Career Guidance’ team visited the San Juan National High School in Libmanan and other municipalities in Camarines Sur to allow Senior High School Students to appreciate the academic programs offered by the institution, especially the Maritime courses in which the Mariners school is well-known.

Parents’ Assembly prepares graduating students to next level of maritime studies and seafaring career

Canaman, Camarines Sur – More than six-hundred parents and guardians attended the ‘Parents’ Assembly’ at the Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) this province on January 27, 2018 to apprise them on the stage where their children are now, as graduation day nears. This is a yearly school event which is held before the end of the second semester.

Campus holds 1st Friday Mass; celebrant exhorts community to blend academics & spirit of Christmas with meaning

Canaman, Camarines Sur – The traditional First Friday Mass for the month was celebrated at the school chapel of Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF), this province on December 1, 2017. Attended by most of the members of the faculty, staff and students who had no classes at that time, it was a fitting spiritual preparation for the Advent season with the homily having centered on the divine side of one’s anticipation of Christmas and thanksgiving.

Canaman, Camarines Sur – The Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) this province, has honored the Senior High School academic highfliers in fitting ceremonies held on November 17, 2017 at the campus’ JCJ Sports Complex. The program was staged not only to acknowledge the feat reached by the awardees but to inspire other students to study hard and smart so they may be able to achieve what their honor student-classmates have accomplished.

Faculty Development Seminar tackles research-oriented curricula; aims to upgrade approach to education

Canaman, Camarines Sur – Top country officials of the Japanese shipping company Misuga Kaiun Co. Ltd visited the Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) this province in mid-August this year to further strengthen the linkage between this group and the school.

ELIZA LAZARO JIMENEZ, 93

In loving memory of ELIZA LAZARO JIMENEZ, Chair Emeritus of the Mariners System in Bicol region, died in the Peace of the Lord on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the age of 93 years old in Naga City, also her place of birth. She was born to the late Severino Lazaro and Basiliza dela Torre on June 14, 1924. ELIZA was the widow of the late Jaime Chavez Jimenez, 69 native of Libmanan, Camarines Sur who was the proud Founder of the Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation) MPCF) in Canaman, Camarines Sur, Legazpi City in Albay and in Naga City as well the Mariners Training Center in Manila. They bore seven children –Joselito, Gabriel, Dante, Evita, Marilissa, Jaime Jr and Merle with Joselito and Jaime Jr who passed away earlier in life. The remaining four days of her wake were spent at the Mariners Canaman Chapel which she helped build in the institutions’ formative years.

PACUCOA team conducts orientation visit at MPCF Cam Sur
