Mariners’ System remembers 102nd Birth Anniversary of school founder
Activities were held at the Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) campus in Canaman, Camarines Sur on the occasion of the 102nd Birth Anniversary of the school founder, COMMO. JAIME CHAVEZ JIMENEZ, SR. They include the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the blessing of the foundation of the about to-be-erected statue of the celebrant & some newly-renovated offices and the messages of school officials conveyed to the academic community right after the Mass.
Canaman, Camarines Sur – The Mariners’ System and its three campuses in the Bicol Region (MPC-Naga, MPCF, Canaman, Camarines Sur and MPCF, Legazpi City, Albay) commemorated the 102nd Birth Anniversary of the school founder, the Late Commodore Jaime Chavez Jimenez, PCGA. It was held on April 30, 2024 and participated by the students, Management Committee, Administration, Faculty and Staff.
Dubbed as the Founder’s Day, a common celebration of the Holy Eucharist for the three campuses was held at the chapel of MPCF Camarines Sur which was made available to interested stakeholders thru the social media’s live streaming portal. This enabled other stakeholders and the members of the Jimenez Family who were not able to make it physically to attend and join the religious rites.
It was presided by Rev. Fr. Alfredo Baesa, Parish Priest of San Vicente, Libmanan, Camarines Sur. Father Baesa was once a student of MPCF – Canaman, prior to his decision to enter the seminary to become a priest.
Immediately after the Mass, several activities were conducted such as the blessing of the newly renovated chapel, the blessing of the foundation of the JCJ, Sr. statue at the Quadrangle, the renovated HR Office, Research Office, Community Extension Office, the new vendo machine, and the refurbished rest rooms. The Masahe Center was also blessed and the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the JIM’s Barber Shop at Berde Azul, ensued.
There was a demo for Acupuncture Treatment by Bernard Bruniel, a licensed acupuncturist and a massage demo by Ms. Paz Notario Nasayao, a Licensed Massage Therapist.
These activities added color to the occasion to honor the late Founder of the school on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
