The Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation of Camarines Sur was granted the PACUCOA Level II Accreditation by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA), in ceremonies held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City on December 1, 2023.

The event was part of the organization’s 50th Golden Anniversary Foundation and 34th Annual General Assembly which carried the theme, “PACUCOA at 50: Sustaining a Culture of Quality Assurance Towards Internationalization of Philippine Education”.

Granted the Level II Accreditation are the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) Programs.

School President Dr. Marilissa Jimenez Ampuan and Executive Vice President Gabriel Lazaro Jimenez represented the institution.  Meanwhile, President Merle Jimenez San Pedro was there for the Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) of Legazpi City, Albay which was granted the accreditation’s Associate Status for the BSMT and BSMarE programs.

The annual general assembly featured and highlighted various schools of thought and perspectives of distinguished experts from different higher education institutions and associations, industry and government stakeholders, both international and local.

Moreover, the assembly encouraged conversations on the theme in light of the following objectives: –  to identify schools whose competence and performance in a particular field warrant public and professional recognition, to guide students in the choice of quality schools, colleges and universities that will meet their individual needs, to help institutions of learning achieve maximum educational effectiveness through self-evaluation and self-discipline and to enlist the cooperation of institutions of learning and professional associations in the mission of advancing the interest of education.

With this development, the Mariners schools are now well on their way, working for the next higher level of accreditation which can be granted upon completion of the requirements asked by  PACUCOA.
